Book about Candies

A long time ago, a boy was all alone in a class after the new school year made all his friends be in another class. But he wasn't going to sulk just like that, it was his chance to make new friendships! That said, he was always the 'mascot' type of friend who just hung around while the others did crazy things, he just went along while protected by the rest of them. That made the boy quite pathetic when he was by himself.

It was scary, but he was not going to give up without a fight! Like he always does whenever a bad problem is right in front of him. With a renewed spirit after gathering his courage for several weeks, he ventured into this scary wilderness to take on this societal challenge!

And so, with a hopeful heart, he stepped up and formulated a plan. 'If I buy some candies, and offer someone some, I am sure they are going to be my friends!' and so he did, with his flawless plan in mind. After lunch break had rung, he went out to the back of the cafeteria where the old ladies cooked, for one of them sold sweets.

But there was something not accounted for, there was a huge line! He worried lunch break would end before he was able to do anything. Unlike the other kids he did not have a cell phone or any other means to check the time, and just hoped to make it in time.

After what felt like an eternity, and with a heart full of anxiety, he was able to buy the candies and bolted to his classroom, but midway there the bell rang again, signaling the end of lunch break. The last thing to hope for was that the teacher had not come yet, so he kept running.

To his dismay, the teacher had actually been there already, and not only that, he was the last student to come. Cold sweat and a shiver ran down his spine, not only had he been late, but he had in the stone-faced teacher's class!

His little face paled, as the classmates stared at him, the same apologetic face on almost everyone, being late to the stone-faced teacher's class was not acceptable. They couldn't help but feel sorry for the quiet boy for the misfortune that had befallen him, even if no one truly knew him.

As expected, the teacher passed down punishment for the boy's misdemeanor. He was denied entry to the classroom. The quiet, always meek and well-behaved boy had been bad. This was catastrophic. Never before had anything like this happened in his life, and so, as the classroom door closed before him, it seemed to signal the end of his future.

There was no way he could hold it. He wasn't prepared for something like this at all. Once again, his hopes betrayed him, and in his attempt to move forward, he found himself plunged beneath dark water. It flooded his mind until he could hardly breathe, and so, he cried.

Ah, I did it again - he thought. He was not talking about being late, but about giving in to his emotion, like he was always mocked for. It's not that big of a deal, isn't it? Yet he could not help but feel like the world was ending. Standing still in front of the door, tears streamed down freely from the corner of his eyes.

On the other side of the door, was the teacher, looking down on him through the door's glass. He looked like he wanted to say something, yet, he turned around and disappeared from the glass square on the door, and the boy kept quietly sobbing, sitting against the wall beside the door, as the tears robbed him of the strength of his body.

An educator passed by. She was not a teacher he knew about, he could not really see her that well with tears impairing his vision. She came closer and opened the classroom door and talked about something with the teacher, the boy was lost in his sorrow and could not make out much of their words, but she seemed to be talking about him. It was hard to see, but it almost seemed like he heard her say ''look at him, there is no way he is a bad kid''.

But instead of feeling grateful, he could only feel guilty. You are wrong - he thought, because he couldn't say anything, which made him feel worse. The educator woman then tried to talk to him and take him to a spare classroom, she then asked him questions and tried to soothe him by being gentle, she was such a good person.

After a while they were talking to each other, about things beyond the incident earlier, and for some reason, as the talk went on, the boy seemed calmer yet the educator grew pensive, sad even. It was like he had passed on his sadness to her, and while he could feel it by instinct, he did not understand or notice it.

After a while the boy had grown sleepy from crying, and the woman noticed. She then said he could sleep there if he wanted, and go home if he felt unwell, and assured him to not worry about it. After that she took her leave, and the boy, sleepy as he was, drifted to the land of dreams.
