someone came by

I never expected to one day live in a place like this.

A lone house atop a hill, facing a cliffside, a tiny house with the bare minimum for a single person, with a single door and window, both facing the sea on the other side. I quite like it here, it's quiet and windy, I could gaze towards this window forever. You could say it's a bit lonely since it's such an isolated place where this house is located, but it might just be a worthy trade-off, and it's not like I am completely alone either. It's rare, but sometimes strangers stop by to visit.

Usually, having strangers at your house is actually a dreadful thing, but this place can make one so much at ease that I have nothing to fear about. You see, I have something to admit: this is not a normal, usual house. For some, it may look decrepit, but I take care of it as much as I can, and if you ask me, it has its charms, but the best thing is that this house has mysterious properties about it, to name a few, let's see...

I think the most striking thing about this house is that only strangers can come here. It's not like I am friendless or have no acquaintances, but as soon as you touch the door to open it and get inside, you become a stranger, isn't that curious? I can never know if you are a friend, family, or even if you are a lover of mine, and it goes both ways. I shall never know who you are, but that is fine, isn't it? You will soon get out, back to the normal world, and forget about this place forever. Somehow, I find that kinda comforting.

Another characteristic of this place is... that this is actually another world! Did you notice that I teased it before, when I was talking about the house? If you pay close attention, time here is completely different from the outside. Here, it is almost always night, out the window, the sea is always twinkling, reflecting the light of the stars.

As a result, this place is quite dim most of the time. We can barely make each other out without enough light, but that is fine too. The place is cozy enough, and after living so long here, I got used to the low light, and I can easily see everything. The stars help a lot with their light. This world has meteor rains almost every night, and compared to the days, nights are so much longer, you have no idea, but I like it even if most people wouldn't.

Oh, you are leaving already? Then, thanks for stopping by. I hope you had a good time, and even if you forget, if you liked it here, I am sure the feeling will persist, if nothing else. Have a good trip back home, and may the stars be with you on your journey, I will remember you.
